Performance comparison of lighting design objectives parameters based on calculation and simulation: case study of a pool hall and café
Room 4
August 25, 4:00 pm-4:15 pm
This study evaluates the lighting design performance of a pool hall and café using the Lighting Design Objectives (LiDOs) procedure, comparing spreadsheet-based calculations with DIALux evo simulations. Since most simulation tools do not directly provide the LiDOs parameters, assessments are conducted before and after simulations, focusing on Mean Room Surface Exitance (MRSE) and Target/Ambient Illuminance Ratio (TAIR).
The specified MRSE in this case study is 50 lm/m2, implemented by employing pendants and indirect luminaires. Results show a simulated MRSE of 48 lm/m2, with discrepancies of 5% in MRSE and 1~10% in TAIR, suggesting a good agreement between the design calculation and simulation.
